TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

  1. The Organisers of the Sustainable Sewing Challenge are Bogod & Company Ltd, exclusive UK distributors of Singer Sewing machines in partnership with Barnardo’s.
  2. The Challenge is open to any current student of a fashion or textile design course at a UK college or University or a graduate of such a course who graduated in the calendar year 2022 or later and based in the UK. Entrants must be over the age of 18 on the closing date of registrations.
  3. The decision as to whether a course meets the criteria for the challenge is at the sole discretion of the Organisers. For confirmation of whether a course is valid please email showcase@singerco.co.uk
  4. Individuals are asked to register their interest through the form at www.singerco.co.uk/showcaseyourtalent, this does not commit you to taking part but enables us to keep in contact with you about the progression of the challenge and provide details for submission of your garment.
  5. The closing date for registrations is 27th October 2025 and all garments must be received by the Organisers by 31st October 2025. You must be registered to submit a garment and only one entry per individual is allowed. The Organisers are not responsible for any missed registrations due to computer or other failure or any loss or damage to a garment during transit.
  6. Garments must be delivered to Bogod & Company Ltd, 91 Goswell Road, London EC1V 7EX. The organisers reserve the right to change this address if necessary. When you are ready to submit your garment you can request a prepaid postage label from the organisers to attach to your parcel. Prepaid postage may be limited at the discretion of the organisers.
  7. There will be 3 winners as chosen by the judges. Each winner will receive a Singer Heavy Duty sewing machine.
  8. Judging criteria will include but will not be limited to: quality of final garment, degree of transformation, creativity, saleability of final garment.
  9. The Winners event will be held on a date to be confirmed and is expected to take place in late 2025 or early 2026. Winners will be advised at least 6 weeks prior to the event.
  10. By accepting the prize, winners agree to allow their names and still or video images of them made during the winners’ event to be used in publicity or social media by the Organisers.
  11. If for any reason the organisers have to cancel the Winners event the prize will be despatched by courier. Specifically the Organisers will not be liable for any costs related to the cancelled event, incurred for whatever reason including transport, by the winner.
  12. Employees of Bogod Group Ltd, Barnardo’s, Singer Sewing Company or SVP Corporation or any of their affiliates or subsidiaries cannot enter.
  13. The challenge is “free to enter” in that no payment is required to enter. However, winners are expected to pay their own travel costs to and from the location of the prize giving event.

  14. Dates may be changed in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
